The Accidental HR, LLC ("The Accidental HR," "we," "us") runs theaccidentalhr.net. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.
Information you give us

Inquiries: your name, organization, business email, and the details you share through our HR Support Inquiry form or by email.

Purchases and memberships: your name, email, billing details, and order history. Payments are handled by our payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.

Accounts and courses: your login details, profile information, course progress, and anything you post in member areas or the community.

Free tools: the answers you give in the Policy Builder, such as business size, state, and industry.

Email signups: your name and email when you request a free resource or join our list.
Please don't send us sensitive employee information. That includes Social Security numbers, medical details, or private information about a specific employee. Describe the situation in general terms instead. We can still help.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our site collects basic technical information: your browser and device type, IP address, the pages you visit, and the site that referred you. This comes through cookies and similar tools used by our website platform (Wix) and analytics services such as Google Analytics. You can control cookies through the banner on our site and your browser settings.

We only send marketing email to people who signed up for it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor it promptly. Even if you unsubscribe, you'll still get emails about your orders and account.

We keep your information as long as your account is active or as long as we need it to provide our services. We also keep records the law requires, such as tax and purchase records. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

We use reasonable safeguards, and our platform providers use industry-standard security. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on the state you live in, you may have additional rights. Email support@theaccidentalhr.com and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for making a request.
Children
Our site is built for business owners and managers. It isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Our site links to other websites, such as Amazon for the book and our social media pages. Their privacy practices are their own, so check their policies too.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the effective date. For significant changes, we'll notify members by email.
